Cauflield Race 5 - Shadwell Manfred Stakes 1200m.
Mosheen and Rifleman are pretty close to joint favourites in early markets and it is hard to split them. Mosheen was the easy winner of the Crown Oaks over 2500m and you would think that this would be too short but her final sectionals were impressive and she led from start to finish. She could do it again and not surprise over the sprint distance. Rifleman has won 2 out of 3 starts in rapid times, is drawn well to lead or settle near the lead and will have every chance to win this. Sea Tryst has 2 wins out of 3 starts and should be in the finish. Petman with 3 wins and a place from 4 starts at the distance has the benefit of a good draw and Damien Oliver in the saddle who has made a terrific return to racing after his injury enforced break.
Mosheen & Rifleman are top picks with Sea Tryst & Petman for the exotics.
Caulfield Race 6 - United Arab Emirates Stakes 1000m.
This will be another exciting sprint with many chances. Bel Sprinter will probably start favourite, but is carrying top weight which could give Kulgrinda a bit of help carrying 4kgs less. Definitely Ready and Canali have the speed to win this on a day and should at least be place chances.
We suggest Bel Sprinter to beat Kulgrinda with Canali & Definitely Ready each way.
Warwick Farm Race 6 - Super Saver Handicap 1300m.
Mr Make Believe has come up from Melbourne to find some wet tracks and looks though he might get his wish here. He has 3 wins and a place from 5 starts at the distance and should be hard to beat. Key West has a win at the distance and a placing at the track and should be competitive. Magic Weekend has won up to 1200m and should be ready for this 2nd up. Ramsay’s Curse has a good record at this distance and a placing at this track but the absolute inside draw can be a blessing or a curse, so maybe each way.
Not much between Mr Make Believe & Key West with Magic Weekend & Ramsay’s Curse place chances.
